Coronavirus sets up short film festival

Newly-lunched Corona Short Film Festival is set up to welcome int'l films made in self-isolation.

Corona Short Film Festival has been set up to receive short films made in self-isolation as a reaction to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Described as the 1st International Pandemic Self-Isolation Short Film Festival, the event aims to create motivation for the filmmakers who are in self-quarantine by offering financial and distribution awards to winners.

The festival team asked interested filmmakers to make up-to-five-minute films with any genre or topic.

The selected films will participate in an online competition. They will be presented on festival’s website and will vie for the prizes. The winning films will be chosen for international distribution by interfilm Berlin Management that is a partner of the festival.

Dejan Bućin, the German actor who represents the festival team, says: "With a lot of time on my hands in this unprecedented situation, I wanted to use it wisely, and be productive and creative. After my first thought of creating a one-man short film with what I’ve got to hand, I decided to encourage others to do the same. Soon, supporters and partners joined in with the initiative."

Filmmakers can submit their films until April 25 to www.coronashortfilmfestival.com.
